Homestay accommodation is an essential component of your experience in Canada.  Living with a host family gives you the opportunity to practice English in a non-academic environment.

We offer a variety of accommodation options:

Homestay

Learning Link International Canada, has a large data base of local English-speaking families, in the Toronto, Canada area, who will show genuine interest in helping you to improve your English skills.

Our experience staff, visits, interview and carefully screens and selects each host family, to ensure that students are placed in safe, warm, friendly, and comfortable home environments.

Students are matched with families according to the student needs.

The homestay program offers:

  • A private room

  • Two or three meals per day

  • Internet access, and laundry facilities

  • Host families are located 30 to 45 minutes from school

  • Convenient access to public transportation

  • Counselling service for students and host families

Private Accommodations

Learning Link International Canada maintains a current listing of single and shared facilities from landlords who would like to rent to students.

Independent landlords require a security deposit (sometimes referred to as a damage deposit) at move-in. This deposit will be refunded following a move-out inspection.

Student Residences

Student residences are located in the heart of downtown, Toronto, offering 24/7 front desk service.

These residences operate independently from Learning Link International, and you must contact them directly to arrange booking.

The cost for renting residences/housing varies between $400 and $1000.00 CAD per month. A $190.00 CAD Homestay Placement Fee will apply.

 

CUSTODIAN PERMISSION

All minor applicants must supply a notarized declaration — one signed by the parents or legal guardians in the country of origin, as well as one signed by the custodian in Canada as Visa Officer must be satisfied that adequate arrangements are in place.

Learning Link International Canada can assist you with this service by having host families that can serve as custodians. A notarized declaration is sent to the minor representative.  The minor should travel with both declarations to present to Immigration Authorities at the point of entry.

AIRPORT RECEPTION

Students requesting airport pick-up, must provide Learning Link International Canada with complete flight detail information at least one week prior to arrival. You will be met at the arrival gate after you have cleared customs and picked up your luggage. Please look for a sign with your name on it and stay in the area near the arrival gate. A recent photograph would be most helpful.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

It is necessary that all students have appropriate medical and health insurance coverage. You must be registered, admitted to and/or attending a Canadian learning institution. Learning Link International Canada can arrange medical coverage through an insurance agent, before your arrival.

ORIENTATION

Arriving to a new country can be an adventure and a challenging experience. For this reason, Learning Link International Canada provides information and assist students with getting oriented to the transport system, libraries, career resource centers, and other services as required.
